LI fisherman bitten by shark he caught

(AP) - The Coast Guard says a 20-year-old boaterwho was fishing off Long Island was bitten by a shark as he wastrying to remove the hook from its mouth.

The incident happened Saturday on a fishing boat about 25 milessouth of Shinnecock Inlet.

The fisherman was trying to remove a hook from the mouth of acaptured blue shark when it bit him on his right bicep.

A rescue crew from Coast Guard Station Shinnecock escorted theman back to shore, where he was treated by paramedics.

The Coast Guard did not release the man's name.
