Grucci fireworks show to light up LI sky

Some 30,000 people are expected to attend tonight's annual Fourth of July Grucci fireworks show at Eisenhower Park in Westbury.

This year, the Nassau County Parks Department is preparing for bigger crowds at Eisenhower Park than last year after the state canceled the Jones Beach fireworks show.

There are only 4,000 parking spots in the park, but there is overflow parking at Nassau Community College.

The Grucci team has been preparing for the fireworks display since Thursday. Pyrotechnician Philip Barone says spectators should expect to see different shapes appear in the sky accompanied by music.

The show starts tonight at 7:30 p.m.
