Thousands attend Grucci fireworks display

Thousands attended the Grucci fireworks show at Eisenhower Park Saturday evening.

The Nassau County Parks Department attributes the large crowd to the cancellation of the Jones Beach fireworks show due to budget cuts.

The parks commissioner says that about 8,000 people can fill the field where the show was held and about 30,000 total were in the park looking on from other areas where the fireworks could be seen.

Grucci has been putting on the fireworks performance for seven years at Eisenhower Park.
