Brush fire put out in Brentwood

Firefighters extinguished a brush fire that broke out this morning at the Edgewood Preserve in Brentwood.

The flames billowed from a wooded area off Crooked Hill Road at around 6 a.m.

Flames also scorched close to 10 acres yesterday in the area. State officials say dry grass and lack of rain are to blame.

More than a dozen fire departments spent the day trying to get the blaze under control.
