LIRR president: Not punching tickets won't lead to free rides

The Long Island Rail Road president denies it is losing money by not punching tickets. As News 12 Long Island reported yesterday, the LIRR cut the number of conductors on the train and platform at the Mets-Willets Point station. Many fans claimed they got free rides because no one came by to punch their tickets. LIRR President Helena Williams says that the majority of customers, more than 70 percent, already use pre-paid monthly passes and that the organization is definitely not losing money.
