Fans shocked, saddened by Steinbrenner death

Long Island baseball fans are mourning the loss of the man they say has been synonymous with the Yankees for the past few decades.

Fans say they are shocked and saddened, especially since Yankees announcer Bob Sheppard died over the weekend.

?That?s very sad,? Anthony Brachwaite, of Uniondale, says. ?I wonder how the team?s gonna react to this, especially Jeter because he was close to both of them. That?s like losing two of your parents.?

Fans have set up a makeshift memorial outside Yankee Stadium.

The Steinbrenner family says a public service will be held.
