Cops: Nearly $80,000 in pot seized from Bellmore home

Police seized nearly $80,000 worth of marijuana from a home in Bellmore earlier this afternoon.

Officials said Joseph and Thomas Micciulli ran an elaborate marijuana-growing operation out of their home on Alder Road.

Police say the operation is said to have been sophisticated. The brothers allegedly were using water and and a system of lights and timers to stimulate growth. They managed to grow nearly 20 pounds of pot before police raided their home earlier this afternoon, according to authorities.

Both men have been charged with criminal possession of marijuana and could serve up to 15 years in prison if convicted of the most serious charges against them.
