Investigation into Meadowbrook crash continues

More than 600 people turned out last night for a vigil mourning the three camp counselors killed on the Meadowbrook Parkway, as police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

Michael Mulhall, 22, and sisters Paige Malone, 19, and Jaime Malone, 22, died in yesterday?s crash. The driver, 20-year-old Justine Mulhall, and passenger 20-year-old Kelly Murphy were the only survivors. All five were from Floral Park.

Officials say the car they were in veered off the road and slammed into a tree yesterday morning. The five were counselors at Camp Anchor in Lido Beach and were on their way to work. They volunteered for many summers before becoming counselors. The camp is for children who have disabilities.

Funeral services for all three victims will be held at Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church in Floral Park, according to the families. No date has been given.

Police have ruled out alcohol as a cause of the crash.
