Man stabbed to death in East Farmingdale

Police are investigating a stabbing that left one man dead in East Farmingdale last night.

Mildred Scott says her son, 39-year-old William Scott, was playing checkers with his friends outside her home on Jefferson Street shortly before 11 p.m. when he was stabbed to death.

The victim's mother claims a friend of her son who lives across the street was the one who killed Scott, and then took off from the scene.

Suffolk police would not comment on the details of the stabbing or who they believe is responsible.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
