Friends and family remember TWA Flight 800

Family, friends and TWA employees gathered at Smith Point County Park tonight to remember the 230 people who died in TWA Flight 800 14 years ago.

After taking off from John F. Kennedy International Airport, a fuel tank exploded, causing the plane to burst into flames and plunge into the ocean.

Every year since the crash in 1996, people gather at Smith Point County Park to reflect on those who died.
