At least a dozen animals die in Plainview fire

Fire officials say at least a dozen animals were killed during a fire Sunday in Plainview.

The fire happened around 7:30 a.m. at the Old Country Animal Clinic, fire officials say.

Two dogs, a rabbit, parrots, lizards and turtles were among the animals that died due to smoke inhalation.

Firefighters say the blaze started at least 30 minutes before the alarm sounded due to electrical problems.
