Sheriff's deputies say a disabled motorist who was standing outside their car was hit by an alleged drunken driver on the Sunrise Highway.
The incident happened at around 3 a.m. near exit 52.
In video obtained by News 12 Long Island, deputies can be seen giving the driver a Breathalyzer test and then putting him in handcuffs.
Police have identified the driver as 30-year-old Tenchue Atkinsonfrom Patchogue.
The disabled motorist was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Sunrise Highway has been reopened between exits 51 and 53.
