A pit bull named Ingrid loves to jump and play like most dogs, but unlike any other canine, Ingrid wouldn't be able to do any of these things without her daily dose of Viagra.Jodi Record, of Little Shelter in Huntington, says Ingrid was found five years ago chained to a fence in an empty lot and nearly dying. Record says the pooch was in end-stage heart failure from a heartworm. A veterinarian who examined her suggested giving Ingrid the little blue pill that was originally designed as heart medication. Ingrid must take two pills a day for the rest of her life, but that did not deter a Long Island family from adopting her today. Since Viagra can be pricey, Little Shelter has been asking people to donate an extra blue pill from their own supplies to help Ingrid.
