Cab driver accused of DWI, hitting police car

A cab driver has been arrested for driving while intoxicated after he blew through a stop sign and hit a Suffolk County police car last night in Central Islip, according to police.

Police say the cab driver, Mario Martinez, of Brentwood , drove through a stop sign on Carleton Avenue then hit a police car. The officer was taken to the hospital with cuts, bruises, and back pain, and Martinez also suffered minor injuries.
