Police commissioner, mayor visit slain detective's precinct

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly last night visited the Brooklyn police precinct where a slain detective from Long Island worked.
Detective Peter Figoski, of West Babylon, was gunned down last week during an attempted burglary in Brooklyn. Figoski worked the midnight shift at the precinct.
Bloomberg and Kelly spoke with Figoski's fellow officers before their shift had started, saying that sometimes "Christmas isn't very merry, and I think this is one of them."
