Mother grateful after Suffolk cops deliver baby boy
A Patchogue mother says she's very grateful after three Suffolk County police officers helped deliver her baby boy at her home last night. Anna Punin went into labor with her fifth child at around 1 a.m. Her husband was at work and there was no time to get to the hospital, so she called 911. Officers Robert Burgos, Kevin Middleton and Frederick Yopp, all trained EMTs, arrived just in time to help deliver a healthy, 7lb. 4oz baby boy named JanCarlos. Speaking through a translator today at Stony Brook University Medical Center, Punin said that at first, she wasn't sure if they knew what to do, but now, she's very appreciative of their help.
