Police seek arsonist who set fire inside Massapequa CVS

Police have released surveillance video showing a man setting a display case on fire inside a Massapequa CVS store last month.Investigators say at around 4 p.m. on Sept. 15, a man with a very distinctive gait walked into the pharmacy on Broadway wearing bulky clothing, a hooded shirt and a bandana covering the lower half of his face. The suspect made his way to the back of store with a container that allegedly contained gasoline, and he then proceeded to douse the gift card section before setting it on fire, police say. In the surveillance video, a burst of flames could be seen, followed by employees running to extinguish the fire. A camera later caught a glimpse of the suspect undisguised as he fled on foot eastbound on Veterans Boulevard. Police say they're looking for a man in his late 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build. Anyone with information is being asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
