Bellone, Carpenter luring voters ahead of Election Day

With Election Day right around the corner, Republican Angie Carpenter and Democrat Steve Bellone hit the streets for some 11th-hour campaigning in their quest to become Suffolk County executive.

Bellone, who recently picked up the endorsement of Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) and Newsday, which is owned by Cablevision, added Rep. Steve Israel (D-Huntington) to the list today.

The Democratic hopeful also made time to engage in some retail politics as he toured Huntington Village businesses, all the while reiterating why he should be the next county executive.

Meanwhile, Carpenter stopped by the Dix Hills Dinner as part of her Coffee Campaign, reminding people why she is the best person to replace outgoing County Executive Steve Levy (R-Suffolk).

The Republican candidate has picked up endorsements from former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and former Gov. George Pataki (R-N.Y.)
