Croci claims victory with slim lead in Islip supervisor race

In a potential upset following yesterday's elections, Republican Tom Croci is declaring victory in the race for supervisor of the Town of Islip. Croci leads Democratic incumbent Phil Nolan by 419 votes. Election officials say there are still about 1,700 absentee ballots left to count. Nolan has not conceded the race.
