Walk against violence held in Amityville

A group of Amityville residents came together this morning to walk against violence following several shootings in the area. Karina Singh, of the Keep the Peace Foundation, organized the event in an effort to stop gun violence. Many of the participants walked today in memory of Danielle Baker, a 14-year-old girl who was shot and killed in 2006 while dancing at a birthday party. "You have to keep the peace, be friendly, be kind and to teach them to stay in school," says Aquira Gwathney, of Amityville.
