LIRR ridership up for the second month
According to a new report, ridership on the Long Island Rail Road is up for the second month in a row by 1.5 percent in October.
In September, that number rose by .8 percent. Earlier this year, LIRR ridership numbers were down, leading officials to question whether unemployment caused less people to ride.
Officials say they hope this increase is the start of a new trend.
