Poll: Most Long Islanders optimistic about economy

A new poll shows that many Long Islanders are optimistic about the future of their personal finances and the economy. A News 12-Hofstra poll asked, "Do you expect at this time next year you will be financially better off than now, or worse off than now?"

Fifty percent of people said they think they'll be better off. Twenty-nine percent of responders said worse off, and 21 percent were not sure.Financial experts say it's surprising to hear so many people are optimistic in this economy, when consumer confidence is down and there's widespread uncertainty about job security.Poll ResultsSummary Report
