Worker injured in fall at Brookhaven National Lab
(AP) - A worker has been injured in a fall on the job at Brookhaven National Lab.The worker, who was not identified, fell about 16 feet off alift this morning. The worker was in a building that oncehoused a graphite research reactor.The reactor is currently being dismantled.A radiation scan of the worker was negative. The cause of thefall is under investigation.The Brookhaven Lab in Upton is run by the U.S. Departmentof Energy. It conducts research in physical, biomedical andenvironmental sciences, as well as in energy technologies andnational security.About 3,000 employees work at the lab, and about 400 of them work with radiological materials.
