Officials probe lightning strike that took down LIRR system

? Officials are investigating today how a lightning strike took down the LIRR last week. Passengers were stuck for hours last Thursday when lightning disabled a new $50 million switching system. The MTA inspector general says he wants to find out what went wrong before history repeats itself this winter.
