Elderly Levittown woman narrowly escapes fire

Fire officials say an elderly woman narrowly escaped injury when her Levittown home went up in flames today.

The woman's neighbor, Michael Sennay, says he was alerted at about 2 p.m. that she was trapped in her home.

"I broke the door down by punching and kicking and once I broke the door down, I saw the woman laying in bed with the fire right next to her," he says.

A volunteer firefighter helped Sennay get the woman out of the home.

An investigation into the fire is ongoing.
