Car flips, lands inches from N. Merrick Duane Reade

Cops say an out of control car took out a light pole, a bench and then flipped on its side before it stopped inches from a Duane Reade store in North Merrick.

Police are investigating why the driver of the car lost control and jumped off Jerusalem Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

According to police, one person was taken to the hospital but it is not clear if it was the passenger or driver of the car.

The condition of the person is not known at this time.
