Ruth Madoff: Bernie and I tried to commit suicide

Ruth Madoff tells CBS' "60 Minutes" that her and her husband, Bernie Madoff, tried to commit suicide on Christmas Eve three years ago.

Bernie Madoff stole billions of dollars in the largest Ponzi scheme in history.

Ruth says the decision to take numerous pills was 'very impulsive' but now says that she is very happy they did not die.

Madoff is currently in prison serving a 150-year sentence.
