Police: Woman killed in Freeport DWI crash

Police say a 24-year-old woman was killed in a collision with a drunken driver in Freeport last night.

According to officials, TeAirra Bunn was driving her BMW at around 8:30 p.m. when Kevin Allen, of Freeport, crashed into her car at the intersection of North Main Street and Woodside Avenue.

Bunn died at the scene. Her 15-year-old-cousin who was riding with her suffered minor injuries, police say.

Allen faces a slew of charges, including vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated. He is hospitalized with injuries to his lower leg.

Meanwhile, a makeshift memorial has been set up in Bunn's honor near the spot where she died.
