Long Islanders commemorate those lost on 9/11 at Point Lookout

Thousands of people came to Point Lookout this morning to commemorate those lost during the Sept. 11 attacks 10 years ago.

The ceremony featured a memorial comprised of a beam from the World Trade Center as well as two chrome replicas of the Twin Towers.

Organizers also handed out flags with white tags on which attendees could write the name of a lost loved one or a personal message.
