Cops: Man sexually abused teen at Northport train station

Police are searching for a man who they say sexually assaulted a teenager in East Northport.

According to Suffolk and MTA police, the incident happened at around 2 p.m. on Aug. 10 at the Northport train station. They say the suspect followed the 16-year-old into the bathroom and locked the door behind him.

MTA police Detective Sgt. Kim Riley says the boy tried to fight back, but the suspect was much larger and stronger. Investigators say the man took money from the teen after the abuse.

Anyone with information is urged to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
