Weather: Rain, possible snow overnight

Wet weather on Long Island is expected to last until Wednesday morning.
News 12 meteorologists say cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms will persist overnight. They say periods of rain can be heavy and winds could reach up to 40 mph.
Rain may mix with snow showers or sleet between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., which may leave a coating of snow. The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning through Wednesday at 10 a.m. for most of Suffolk and Nassau counties.
Wednesday is expected to be sunny and windy with temperatures reaching 50 degrees.
