LI confectioners serve up sweet Easter treats

Peeps, Cadbury eggs and jelly beans are all classic Easter treats, but some Long Island candymakers are putting their own spin on the classic confections.



At Sweeties Candy Cottage in Huntington, Lisa Hodes has been working on her chocolate bunnies since after Valentine's Day. Always popular are her bunnies filled with jelly beans.



In Riverhead, Anthony Meras of Star Confectionary makes his bunnies in antique molds that date back to the 1920s. Meras says his chocolates have a mark of distinction that brings customers all the way from upstate New York.
