News 12/Hofstra poll: PSEG Long Island doing poor job keeping electric rates down
A News 12/Hofstra poll revealed not-so-great reviews for PSEG Long Island.
The poll asked how Long Islanders rated the utility's performance in holding down electric rates. Almost 42 percent said the power supplier has done a poor job. Only 1 percent said PSEG Long Island is doing an excellent job.
Another 14.1 percent said PSEG Long Island was doing a good job, and 27.9 percent gave the utility a grade of fair.
News 12 Long Island asked PSEG Long Island to comment on the results, but has not heard back.
Last week, the company blamed colder-than-average temperatures for rising power supply costs over the winter months. Meanwhile, in Suffolk County, Legislator Tom Muratore has introduced a resolution to form an oversight committee for PSEG Long Island.
