Today is last day to sign up for financial assistance from the New York Rising program.
The program was created to help people rebuild after Superstorm Sandy. However, officials say many eligible Long Islanders have not yet signed up.
Some residents complain they applied more than a year ago and still have not received any payment, while others say they are confused as to who qualifies for funding.
Officials say there are help centers located across Nassau and Suffolk counties where residents can have any questions answered by case managers.
