Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK H.S. students earn Chairman’s Award at FIRST Robotics competition

Students from Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School were presented with the Chairman's Award at the prestigious FIRST Robotics competition at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan.
Engineering students, who call themselves the POBOTS, say they designed and built "Christina" in six weeks.
They have since won two awards for their creation since last September.
"It's fun, it's enjoyable and it's a great career path," said Sarah Boecker, a junior at JFK.
The team has qualified to go to the national competition in St. Louis later this month.
