Police: Missing Riverside woman Jean Taber found dead
Police say the great-grandmother from Riverside who went missing last week has been found dead in a state conservation area.
Jean Taber, 82, was reported missing on Thursday after going for a walk with her cocker spaniel, named Freckles. She had been last seen walking on County Road 104.
Taber was found in the David A. Sarnoff Preserve yesterday afternoon with her dog by her side, police say.
The woman suffered from mild dementia and was on medications, according to her family.
Taber's disappearance sparked a large search effort with help from police helicopters and K-9 units.
There is no word yet on Taber's cause of death. Her dog has been taken to the vet for examination.
