The Lighthouse Mission in Bellport has been robbed of almost $1,000 in cash and gift cards.
Police say someone broke in and stole the money out of Pastor Jim Ryan's bible inside his office early Thursday morning.
The money was going to be used for the Mission's youth program.
This is the second time in three years that someone has broken into the Mission's Bellport location and stole hundreds of dollars. The first incident was in December of 2012 when thieves broke in through the back door and stole $600.
Ryan says an alarm system and a metal grate were donated after the 2012 robbery, but it wasn't enough to keep the robbers out.
Ryan does not plan on filing charges. He says he would prefer they turn themselves in to the Mission so they can receive help.
