An unexpected spring snowfall surprised Long Island this morning and made for a messy commute.
Spinouts and fender-benders were reported as a band of bad weather suddenly dumped several inches of snow on parts of Long Island.
Police closed parts of southbound North Ocean Avenue earlier because of icing.
There's good news in the wake of winter's revenge: News 12 meteorologists say to expect mostly sunny skies and temps in the 50s for Tuesday and Wednesday.
