Letter carrier Patrick Paskett, of Massapequa Park, accused of throwing out letters

A letter carrier in Seaford is accused of throwing out more than 1,000 letters and packages.
Patrick Paskett was arrested earlier this month, accused of trashing pieces of mail instead of delivering them to their rightful recipients. Prosecutors say he threw out mail between early December and early March.
According to a complaint, federal agents started investigating the 24-year-old postal worker after receiving numerous customer complaints about undelivered mail on his Seaford route.
The complaint also says federal agents recovered 1,018 pieces of mail, 144 of them 1st class mail, from 15 different dumpsters in both Seaford and Massapequa Park, where Paskett lives.
Paskett faces five years in prison, if convicted.
