Pop-up Repair Shop breathes new life into broken items

A Gowanus business is breathing new life into broken items like appliances and furniture, but only for a limited time.
If it's not working, ticking or heating up, the team at Pop-Up Repair will work to get it going again. The shop takes everything from broken toys, lamps, household appliances and more.
Pop-Up Repair was started by Sandra Goldmark and her husband, Michael Banta. Both work in theater. "We've been building scenery, fixing props, lights all those sort of things," Banta says.
Their ultimate goal is to cut down on waste and saving the environment by eliminating the need to throw broken things away.
Pop-up Repair will run every Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. until March 30.
