Students participate in Newton's Egg contest at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City
More than 500 students from schools around Long Island today took part in an egg-dropping contest.
The contest, called Newton's Egg, took place at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City.
The students came up with hundreds of projects designed to keep an egg from breaking after it was dropped.
The winners walked away with the coveted "SPLAT" award.
