State Assembly passes bill on Common Core
The State Assembly passed a bill yesterday delaying schools from using Common Core tests to decide if a student is left back.
The move would prevent using the tests in teacher evaluations for two years, but the bill could have a tough time in the State Senate.
The Assembly also talked about getting ride of Common Core completely.
That suggestion was defeated by lawmakers who were worried about losing federal 'Race to the Top' grant money.
