College Board announces changes to SAT exam

For the first time in 10 years, the College Board announced major changes to the SATs Wednesday.
College Board officials say the changes are needed to make the test more representative of what students study in high school, and the skills they need to succeed in college and life afterward.
The test will include three sections, evidence-based reading and writing, math and an optional essay, and will each be refined to stop students from simply filling in a bubble on the test sheet.
The scoring system will return to the 1600 point scale and there will be no penalties for wrong answers, officials say.
Officials say the changes will take place in 2016, making current ninth-graders the first class to experience the new exams.
