Latest wintry blast frustrates Long Islanders
As yet another winter storm bears down on Long Island, many residents say they're beyond frustrated, but all they can do is plow through it until spring arrives.
Towns across Long Island have eaten through their snow budgets by sending out countless crews to combat the snow and ice. Those crews will be out again Monday doing more of the same.
Town officials like Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaeffer have had enough. "This is like being in Bill Murray's movie, 'Groundhog Day,'" he said.
The snow is good for some businesses, however, like the Lo Man Outdoor Store in Babylon Village, where gloves boots and hats were still hot commodities, even though it's March.
