FDA, first lady propose new nutrition labels to promote better health

Big changes could be coming to nutrition labels.
The FDA and first lady Michelle Obama have unveiled a new set of nutrition labels aimed at being more realistic and promoting better health.
The proposed changes include increasing the size of the calorie count, which would be featured with a larger, bolder font.
Other adjustments would include a more prominent listing of the number of servings per container, and the inclusion of the amount of added sugars in any particular product.
While most residents like the idea, Jim Rendall, of Huntington, says a new label isn't going to change what he chooses to eat.
"If I'm going to eat a cheeseburger with 800 calories, maybe I don't even want to know about it," he says. "So, regardless of what the label says, if it's something you want, you're going to get it. I'm going to get it anyway."
