Officials say a man died in an East Farmingdale house fire Wednesday afternoon.
At least three fire departments responded to a blaze at 1211 Melville Road at around 3:20 p.m.
Fire officials say first responders ran into the burning home and pulled the victim out. Witnesses say firefighters performed CPR on him on the front lawn. The victim was rushed to Nassau University Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
Fire officials say the man was the only person in the house when the fire broke out. Neighbors say he lived there with his elderly parents.

The victim's name has not yet been released.
