Police: Michael Taylor, of Shirley, arrested for role in forged prescription ring
A Suffolk County man is under arrest in connection to what is being called the largest oxycodone ring ever busted.
Newsday reports that Michael Taylor, of Shirley, was part of the alleged drug ring that filled nearly 800 forged prescriptions over the last two years.
Investigators say the 800 forged prescriptions translates to more than 100,000 pills, worth about $3 million on the street.
The alleged ring leaders face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Taylor did not enter a plea Friday. He was ordered held without bail by Magistrate Arlene Lindsay in federal court in Central Islip.
