Residents displaced after burst pipe to return to Maple Point Assisted Living
The displaced residents of a nursing home in Rockville Centre could return home as early as today.
A pipe valve burst yesterday on the fifth floor of the Maple Point Assisted Living Facility, leading to the evacuation.
Officials say the burst sent water pouring through the building and forced 132 residents to be evacuated.
The valve has been fixed and the building's heat and electricity are on.
As soon as the building is deemed safe, all residents will be allowed to return.
