Woman critically injured in Merrick crash

Police say a young woman was critically hurt when she was ejected from a car during a bad crash in Merrick.  The incident occurred on Hewlett Avenue and Sunrise Highway around 6:30 p.m. yesterday.

Woman critically injured in Merrick crash
Police say a young woman was critically hurt when she was ejected from a car during a bad crash in Merrick. 
The incident occurred on Hewlett Avenue and Sunrise Highway around 6:30 p.m. yesterday. 
According to police, a driver made a left onto Hewlett and was struck by an oncoming car going west on Sunrise.
Both drivers and a 19-year-old woman suffered minor injuries.
Police tell News 12 the 21-year-old woman was thrown from the car by the force of the crash and has multiple injuries. 
There are no arrests at this time.
