A former aide has filed a federal lawsuit against former Town Clerk Mark Bonilla and the Town of Hempstead, claiming Bonilla subjected her to repeated sexual harassment, according to Newsday.

The lawsuit claims Bonilla made comments to the woman that "were sexual in nature and created an intimidating, hostile and offensive work environment," according to the report. The aide is seeking unspecified damages.

Bonilla was convicted in July on official misconduct, coercion and grand larceny charges.

He was sentenced to 300 hours community service.
